Demonstrators raise a banner featuring a portrait of the prominent opposition figure Ayachi Hammami, with the text he declares before being arrested and taken to prison in connection with the case known as 'conspiracy against the state security': ''We will transform the prison into a square symbol of the struggle,'' during a rally organized outside the headquarters of the Tunisian General Labour Union (French: UGTT) ahead of a march toward the mausoleum of union leader Farhat Hached in Tunis, Tunisia, on December 4, 2025, marking the 73rd anniversary of his assassination. The commemoration escalates into a protest against President Kais Saied's economic and social policies. Trade unionists demand the protection of union rights and freedoms, as well as the resumption of social dialogue and salary negotiations. The UGTT denounces that the planned salary increases in the private and public sectors, as outlined in the 2026 Finance Bill, will be implemented without any social dialogue with the government. The confrontation between the UGTT and President Kais Saied's government reflects a broader political crisis that unfolds since 2021, raising concerns among trade unions and civil society actors. The UGTT warns of a potential general strike.

Issam Chebbi's son makes the victory sign while raising a placard featuring his father's portrait, as he poses for photos during a march organized by feminist groups, including the Tunisian Association of the Democratic Women (ATFD), in Tunis, Tunisia, on November 29, 2025. Issam Chebbi is sentenced to twenty years in prison on appeal while being at liberty in the so-called ''conspiracy against state security'' case. The demonstration brings together hundreds of human rights defenders, feminist activists, opposition parties, civil society members, and ordinary Tunisians, denouncing what they describe as a growing crackdown on freedoms, criminalization of civil society, and restrictions on public space imposed by Tunisian authorities. Participants also denounce the suspension of the activities of dozens of associations and organizations, as well as the rising gender-based violence.

A woman demonstrator raises a placard featuring the portrait of the jailed political opponent, Issam Chebbi, as she takes part in a demonstration staged outside the Court of Appeal in Tunis, Tunisia, on November 27, 2025. The rally is organized by families of political prisoners and takes place to show solidarity with prominent opposition leaders jailed in the so-called ''conspiracy against state security'' case. The demonstration coincides with the third remote appeal hearing in the case, as prisoners involved refuse to appear before the court remotely. Two of the prisoners are currently on hunger strike in their cell to protest what they describe as politically motivated sentences, harsh prison conditions, a crackdown on human rights, and an unfair trial.
