The reestablishment ceremony of the repatriated idol takes place at Maru Tole on World Heritage Day on April 18, 2026, in Kathmandu, Nepal, a day observed annually to promote the preservation of cultural heritage. The sculpture, returned to Nepal in 1996 after being stolen and taken to the United Kingdom, had been preserved at the Chhauni National Museum before its reinstatement.
