Today, the judgement was given it's one of the harshest ever given to the 'Faucheurs volontaires' : 3 months suspended prison sentence, €400.588 for damags to Arvalis and €3000 of justice costs. The three 'Faucheurs volontaires' will make an appeal against the court's decision. The sunflowers were part of a test for a Vegetable Variety Tolerant At Herbicides (VrTH) in 2017. The test project was called SYPPRE and made by Arvalis (cropmaker), the Beetroot Technical Institute and by Terres-Inovia. VrTH are considered by French Justice as GMOs, and GMOs are forbidden to farm in France (and the EU).
