A wall with razor wire stands at Nowa Huta Prison in Krakow, Poland, on August 27, 2025. Thanks to a partnership between Krakow's Municipal Greenery Authority and the Krakow Remand Prison, inmates cultivate vegetable gardens on prison grounds as part of an urban gardening program. The garden runs for three years in the women's ward, and since last year also in the men's ward, where since 2025 vegetables grow alongside flowers. In addition to gardening, inmates also take part in other projects such as building hedgehog houses and insect hotels. The initiative is designed to teach responsibility and care, while also providing meaningful ways to spend time. Participation is voluntary, and all harvests belong to those who work in the gardens.

Two young women hold placards: 'Recycle your garbage, don't do ministers with it' (left) and 'If a rape in sex then a spade in your head is gardening' (right). Thousands of women and men take to the streets of Toulouse, France, on March 8, 2025, for International Women's Day. This year, the motto focuses on sexism, the far-right, Trump, and sexual violence. One theme of the protest addresses U.S. President D. Trump, who bars words like 'woman, women, gender, transgender, sexism, machism, etc.' from governmental websites. Trump also terminates the D.E.I. (diversity, equity, and inclusion) programs and demands that corporations cut all DEI initiatives. Protesters aim to raise awareness about sexism, machism, and the disparity of rights between men and women in society. They also denounce rape, sexual violence, and violence towards women. Trade unions such as CGT, FSU, and Unsa are also present at the march.
