NYPD officers hold a press conference after police fatally shoot 44-year-old Lucien Colon at 105 Willis Avenue, Bronx, New York, on April 2, 2026. NYPD officers, while executing a warrant Thursday morning in the Mott Haven section of the Bronx around 7:15 a.m. at 105 Willis Avenue, report that Lucien Colon allegedly reaches for a weapon. Colon reportedly tells police that he has a gun and, when asked to step out, says to responding officers that it is not going to happen. After repeated commands to drop the weapon, police open fire, striking the suspect. Lucien Colon is pronounced dead at the hospital. A weapon is recovered from the scene. Police state that Lucien Colon is a level 3 sex offender with multiple prior arrests.
