A group of migrants queues before being attended by the Red Cross at Malaga's port, in Malaga, Spain, on June 28, 2019. Even though the number of migrants reaching Europe by sea has considerably decreased, crossing the Mediterranean is still extremely risky. During the five first months of the year 2019, more than 500 persons died.

A group of men queues, after disembarking, to go to the Red Cross Care Unit. Since the beginning of the year 2019, around 1300 rescued migrants have disembarked at Malaga’s harbor on 16 January 2019 in Malaga, southern Spain. The Spaniard Maritime vessel, El Caliope, has rescued 183 persons in the Mediterranean sea in front of Morocco. 50 women and 18 children were among them. They have been attended by the Red Cross volunteers at Malaga's harbour.
