Gopaldhara Tea Estate known as ''one of Darjeeling's pride'', was developed in 1881 in the Mirik subdivision of the Darjeeling district of West Bengal, and is one of the highest tea estates in Darjeeling producing authentic Darjeeling tea like Darjeeling Black Tea, White Tea, Green Tea, Oolong Tea, Purple Tea etc. The total area of the Estate is 320 ha (790 acres) at a high altitude of 5,500 to 7,000 feet (1,700 to 2,100 m) and out of it, 172 ha (430 acres) have been planted with tea.
