On the 1st of December in Cologne, at the gates of the largest lignite mining area in Europe, thousands of people gathered to ask the Implementing the Paris Climate Agreement: tightening climate targets and providing fair support to poor and most affected countries in the fight against climate change. Switching off half of the coal-fired power station capacities in Germany, and so fast that the federal government’s climate target for 2020 is still reached. A timetable for a fast coal exit that meets the Paris Climate Agreement and National Climate Targets. The immediate stop of all plans for new coal-fired power plants, open-pit mines, and expansions.
