At least 500 shanties were gutted as a slum in Mohakhali area in Dhaka, Bangladesh, caught fire on June 7, 2021.The fire started at Mohakhali Sattola slum around 3:40am, said Fire Service director general Brigadier General Sazzad Hossain.On information, 18 firefighting units rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control around 6:35am, he said.A four members committee was formed to investigate the incident.Illegal gas or power connection is primarily suspected as reason behind the fire.
