Participants of the official meeting of the Gdansk Regional Board of the NSZZ 'Solidarnosc' Trade Union gather in the BHP Hall on August 31, 2025, in Gdansk, Poland. On August 31, 1980, the August Agreements are signed between the democratic opposition and the communist government. That month, around 700,000 people take part in strikes, and the newly founded trade union Solidarity attracts 9-10 million members. To commemorate these events, an anniversary is held in the BHP Hall of the Gdansk Shipyard, and flowers are laid at the shipyard gate.
