Patrols are for military purposes but also for boats with refugees and migrants in addition to the FRONTEX force that guards the European borders since the refugee crisis. The vessel that patrols for asylum seekers trying to cross with a dinghy from the Turkish coast is a Diopos Antoniou P286 Hellenic Navys Kelefstis Stamou class small missile boat.
