A Nepali Buddhism follower is performing rituals at the premises of Swoyambhunath Stupa in Kathmandu, Nepal, on May 23, 2024, on the occasion of Buddha Purnima. Buddhist devotees are marking the birth anniversary of Gautam Buddha, also known as the ''Light of Asia,'' on the day of Buddha Purnima. Buddha, regarded as the ninth incarnation of Lord Bishnu, was born on Shukla Purnima of the Baisakh month in the lunar calendar.
