Papel picado is a very important element for the Day of the Dead (1 and 2 November), as it is a fundamental adornment on the altars, where it plays not only a decorative role but also a symbolic role, since, according to the belief, it helps the souls of the dead to be routed and feel happy and content when they return to eat all that their relatives have prepared for them in the ofrendas.
