On 23 April 2022, the Turkish Navy Yavuz class MEKO 200 frigate TCG Turgutreis F241 anchored in Istanbul's Bosphorus Straits near the Dolmabache Palace as ferry and cargo ship traffic navigated the water way connecting the Marmara and Black Seas. The frigate was decorated to mark the 102nd anniversary of National Sovereignty Day commemorating the opening Turkish Grand National Assembly and National Children's Day.
