Lieutenant Marian Drozdz, codename 'Volcano', a veteran of the September Campaign of 1939, participates in the ceremony at the Defenders of the Polish Post Office Square on the 86th anniversary of the outbreak of World War II in Gdansk, Poland, on September 1, 2025. The attack on the Polish Post Office building occurs simultaneously with the beginning of the shelling of Westerplatte. Despite overwhelming enemy forces, the postal workers defend access to the Polish Post Office building for fourteen hours.
