One hundred activists from social centers gather outside the Palace of Justice to wait for the final sentence of the Askatasuna trial and then celebrate the acquittal of the charge of criminal association. The judges acquit the 16 defendants of this crime, while 16 receive convictions for lesser offenses. Additionally, ten defendants are found not guilty. The self-managed Askatasuna social center, which has been occupied since 1996, historically organizes large demonstrations in the streets of the subalpine capital, some of which result in riots.
