The wide body airplane has the registration tail number B-LXM while is powered by 2x Rolls Royce RR Trent XWB-97 jet engines. Cathay Pacific is the flag carrier airline of Hong Kong with a fleet of 178 aircraft, member of Oneworld aviation alliance group. As of September 2024 according to media, Cathay Pacific grounds A350 fleet after engine failure for an inspection to all 48 widebody planes for a specific Rolls-Royce engine component.
