Calarco died in 2020 when the bridge construction project had already been closed and the Stretto di Messina company dissolved. The model of the bridge over the Strait of Messina is exhibited to the public for the first time at the PalAntonello in the presence of Authorities and Citizens. Today the model is kept in the Ministry of Infrastructure in Rome.
