This Sunday, Mexico held a national drill and remembered the fatal victims of the earthquakes of 19 September 1985 and 2017, respectively. The civil protection exercise was based on the hypothesis of a 7.2 magnitude earthquake in the centre of the country, located 35 kilometres south of Acatlán de Osorio, Puebla, and a depth of 55 kilometres. The seismic alert was activated in Mexico City and was played over 12,826 loudspeakers, with the slogan This is a drill of the Mexico City warning system, was the message from the loudspeakers in the Mexican capital during the second National Drill.
