Nepali players practice at the Dasharath Stadium in Kathmandu, Nepal, on September 2, 2025, for an upcoming friendly match organized at the venue following the AFC's announcement that it is not fit to host any international football matches. The Dasharath Stadium, the country's only international-standard venue, is declared unfit by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) in August 2025. A recent AFC inspection of the Dasharath Stadium raises serious concerns about the venue's infrastructure and safety standards. The AFC points out that the stadium lacks a modern automated watering system, proper drainage, and separate entry and exit points for players, officials, media personnel, and spectators. In addition, misaligned floodlights make evening matches nearly impossible. Following the inspection, AFC officials formally inform the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) that the stadium does not meet international requirements for Asian Cup qualifiers.
