Gilles Garric, opponent from LVEL speaks to the press after hearings at the Cour Administrative d'Appel de Toulouse' (ie 'Adminiistrative Court of Appeal of Toulouse') after the decision of the Administrative Court of Toulouse to suspend all works on the A69 project highway between Toulouse and Castres, NGE/Atosca filed an appeal against this decision and asked the Court to let the works continue during the time the appeal will be judged. Two senators and two MPs from the Tarn department put on vote a retroactiv law to authorize the building of the A69. They say they want to bypass the decision of the Admin istrative Court of Toulouse.Atosca says all levelling works have begun and that more than 70% of highway structures are completed. However, the levelling works and highway structure aren't close to the numbers given by Atosca. More, several problems plagued the work suh as water evacuation, protection of species, etc. The main assocation 'La Voie est Libre' (ie 'The Way is Free'), opponents want the building of the highway to be stopped until all the justice decisions on the content to be given. All expropiations for farmers aren't cleared. Opponents at this project say that the reprofiling of the N126 will be suffisant for the 6,000 vehicles planned per day and would cost far less money. The A69 highway will cost EUR512 millions (in 2018 euros without the inflation) for 54 kilometers. More than 100 protected species and 400ha of agricultural fields will be destroyed. Toulouse. A woman holds a placard depicting a Palestinian woman killed, which reads 'Gaza: figures, not only numbers'. A commemoration of the 1948 'Nakba' (catastrophe) and a gathering against the Israeli onslaught in Gaza, deemed 'genocide' by the CPI and several NGOs such as Amnesty International, HRW, PHR, etc., takes place in Toulouse, France, on May 15, 2025. As in more than 50 towns across France, they read the name, surname, and age of the more than 53,000 Gazans killed since October 7, 2023. They also read testimonies from Gaza: 'What we are experiencing now is even worse than the Nakba of 1948,' says Ahmed Hamad, a Palestinian in Gaza City who has been displaced several times. No humanitarian assistance has been delivered to Gaza since March 2, and a global hunger monitor warns that half a million people face starvation in Gaza.

Flags of the SUD 'Public Finances' workers union are displayed. Hundreds of protesters march in Toulouse, France, on May 13, 2025, called by trade unions to protest against the new budget for 2026 in France. Workers in public services see the waiting period for illness leave increase from one day to three, their pay while on illness leave is cut by 10%, and all their bonuses are suppressed. They protest against the shrinking of public services such as education, health, children's protection, public finances, etc. The 2026 Bayrou budget plans nearly EUR50 billion in cuts to public services, except for the defense budget. The defense budget is the only one to grow in 2026. Protesters oppose the defense budget and the cuts. Similar protests take place elsewhere in France. The culture sector is one of the main domains impacted by cuts.
