Vlad a 20 year old serviceman joined the Donetsk people's republic military in August 2014, he dropped out of education and gave up his rather well pay part time job working in the coal minding industry to fight for what he believes to be right for his "homeland" (self proclaimed Donetsk people's republic). His girlfriend Kate, a 19 year old accounting student studying in a local university supports his decision to join the military. She is facing the difficulty of not able to get her Ukrainian university degree as the country is being devided since the civil war started in 2014, the degree she is going to graduate with will be an DNR degree which is not recognized by most countries.
