The construction sector in Turkey slows down on top of a deepening currency crisis after the Turkish lira's continuous depreciation since the start of 2018 as many construction companies are selling products below cost and are struggling to pay foreign-currency debts. According to data shared by the Buildings Contractors Confederation of Turkey (IMKON), 70 percent of all private construction work has stopped or slowed down amid the crisis.
