Various pro-Palestinian social organizations in Mexico City, Mexico, on December 23, 2025, break a pinata while participating in a posada (traditional Mexican Christmas celebration) where they smash and burn pinatas depicting Donald Trump, President of the United States, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the Anti-Monument to Palestine in the Hemiciclo a Juarez. The pinatas are a protest against the Israeli army, which, despite the ceasefire in Gaza, has killed thousands of people over the past two years. During this time, more than 65,000 people die and a large number are wounded.

In Katowice, Poland, on December 16, 2025, a ceremony takes place at the Cross-Monument to the Miners of the 'Wujek' Coal Mine during commemorations marking the 44th anniversary of the pacification of the 'Wujek' mine. On December 16, 1981, in Katowice, striking miners at the 'Wujek' coal mine are violently suppressed by units of ZOMO acting under orders issued by Wojciech Jaruzelski. As a result of these actions, six miners are killed at the scene, three others later die in hospital, and 23 are injured. These events bring the strike at the mine to an end.
