Six people are injured, one critically, after a stolen vehicle monitored by police loses control while driving at a high rate of speed and strikes another vehicle in Chicago, Illinois, United States, on August 23, 2024. On Friday evening at approximately 10:35 p.m. on the 7600 block of W. Touhy Avenue, a driver with three passengers in a stolen vehicle monitored by a police helicopter going northbound on W. Touhy Avenue at a high rate of speed loses control and strikes another vehicle with a female driving victim. The 21-year-old male driver of the vehicle sustains a leg and spine injury and is transported to the hospital in critical condition. Three other females and one male are taken to the hospital for minor injuries. Officers recover a handgun at the scene. Charges are pending, and traffic citations will be issued for the crash according to police.
