Members of the NYPD crime scene unit recover evidence from the scene where one person is killed and four people are injured in a mass shooting during a basketball game in the area of Burke Avenue and Wickham Avenue, Haffen Park, within the confines of the 47 Precinct in Bronx, New York, United States, on August 23, 2025. A mass shooting occurs Saturday evening in Haffen Park. A 32-year-old man is shot in the chest and is pronounced dead, a 30-year-old man is shot in the back and is originally listed in critical condition, a 17-year-old girl is shot in the face and is originally listed in critical condition, a 29-year-old woman is shot in the back and is listed in stable condition, and a 42-year-old man is shot in the arm and is listed in stable condition. A gun is found at the scene. The New York City Police Department investigates the shooting.
