Julian Carrey, PHD in physics at INSA, speaks in front of a powerpoint reading 'A rupture is necessary: the more we wait, the more we will suffer'. 'Scientists Rebellion' staged a conference-occupation of the forum 'Toulouse Zero Carbone' in the townhall of Toulouse, the Capitole. The conference-occupation was about climate urgency and on the obligation to reduce drasticaaly our emissions of warming gas. This serie of conferences pitted the CEO of Total Energies sud-Ouest, LP Promotion (a developper), a deputy of the mayor of Toulouse, etc. Scientists Rebellion and ANV-COP21 denounce the presence of TotalEnergies (which owns several 'Climate bombs' as defined by the peers- revue Energy Policy) amid others. Energy Policy qualifies as 'Climate bombs', projects which will emit each one more than 1bn tons of warming gasses during their lifespan. The protesters say it's only a 'summit of greenwashing'. A woman shows her placard depicting a nuclear powerplant and reading 'Let's us grow trees not nuclear chimneys'. Several thousands of people took to the streets called by several organizations such as XR, Greenpeace, Youths for Climate, Attac, ANV-COP21. Protesters want to call out French presidential candidates to take into consideration the climate emergency, which is nearly absent from the political campaign. This protest was called 'Look up' in a reference to the fim 'Don't look up', a metaphor for the climate crisis. Marches like this one were organized in 150 french cities. Toulouse. France.
