BYDGOSZCZ, 11 April 2016 - EU symbols and funded amounts are seen near a building project funded by the European Union in Poland. Poland is being put under pressure by the EU over the handling of issues concerning it’s constitutional court. The changes forced through by the conservative PiS government would make the court ineffective in controlling legislation passed by parliament. On 13th April 2016 the European Commission will focus it’s weekly discussion on the report by Venice Commission, a human rights organisation, which has found that the current Polish government’s tactics endanger the rule of law and the proper functioning of democracy.
