The forewings have an arched costa towards the apex, which is nearly rectangular. A large ''inverted comma'' mark is found beyond the end of the cell, with ochreous and black edges, and some white on the inner edge of the ''tail,'' with the center fuscous black. A Spirama helicina moth was observed sitting on a damp orange wall, attracted by the moisture, in Tehatta, West Bengal, India, on 26/09/2024.
