Approximately a hundred residents and members of various environmental and civic groups are rallying in Yeouido, demanding the public management of industrial waste disposal in Seoul, South Korea, on March 14, 2024. They are criticizing the government's reliance on private companies for handling the majority of waste management, which has led to unchecked industrial waste facilities nationwide. Accusing SK and Taeyoung of aggressively expanding such projects in rural areas, demonstrators are urging major political parties to include principles of public waste management and residents' oversight in their election pledges.
