Ten years later, at the height of the pandemic, that victory, based on the defence of the commons and the affirmation of the rights of all? over the profits of a few, has an even more topical meaning. Since December 2020, water, like any other commodity, has been listed on the stock exchange. This is an epoch-making step that opens the door to speculation by big capital and the marginalisation of territories and populations, and constitutes a serious threat to fundamental human rights.
