Five people, including an Indian armys paratrooper and four Kashmiri rebels of Hizbul Mujahideen group, Kashmiris largest militant organization, were killed in a brief gunfight between Indian government forces and Kashmiri rebels, in the Nadigam village of south Kashmirs Shopian district on Tuesday. As soon as the news of gun battle spread among the locals, hundreds of Kashmiri youth marched towards the gun battle site, to support the rebels chanting pro-militant slogans and demanding the end of Indian rule over Kashmir, which ended up in clashes between Indian government forces and Kashmiri Muslims . Youth hurled rocks and bricks at Indian government forces and the forces in retaliation used live rounds, metal pellets and teargas shells to stop them from reaching to the gun battle site.
