An environmental activist, Edyta, presents rare scicies of down as a proof of the age of the forest on May 14, 2021 near Arlamow, Carpathians mountains, south-eastern Poland. The Wild Carpathians Initiative continues its occupational protest against deforestation of the Turnicki area of Eastern Carpathian mountains. The group blocks entrances to strategic paths of cutting crews since the end of April when the National Forest resumed large-scale forest cuts under the Forest Management Plan. Activists argue that this area should not operate under the Plan but rather become a National Park. The activists base their argument on the age of the forest (some trees are 300 years old) and the biodiversity only possible to maintain in a naturally managed environment. The area is a home to wildlife species, such as bear, wolf, boar or deer as well as rare plants.

A protester put posters reading 'Now, the only growth we'll tolerate will be this of our children and this of trees' and 'In Brazil, Casino group sell meat from deforestation' on the front window of the Monoprix store. XR Toulouse filtered the entrance of a Monoprix store as XR supports a legal action against Casino group (Casino, Monoprix, Naturalia, Franprix, etc.). This legal action against Casino group was launched by a collective of NGOs and associations (Opiac, Canopee, envol vert, sherpa, notre affaire a tous..) because they point the responsability of Casino group in the cutting of the Amazon rainforest. In 2019 alone, Casino group is deemed responsible of the clear cut of 56.000ha of Amazon rainforest. Toulouse. March 6th 2021.
