People burn straw to keep elephants warm as thick fog and mist lower daytime temperatures in Chitwan's Terai region, Nepal, on December 27, 2025. Dense fog remains throughout the morning hours, limiting sunlight and keeping temperatures lower than usual. The reduced visibility also causes slower movement on highways and rural roads.
