In Warsaw, Poland, on December 19, Volodymyr Zelensky, President of Ukraine, meets with Wlodzimierz Czarzasty, Speaker of the Sejm and Chairman of the New Left, at the Sejm as part of the Ukrainian President's visit to Poland. During the visit, President Zelensky meets for the first time with Karol Nawrocki, President of Poland, at his invitation. The Ukrainian president then visits the Polish parliament to meet with the Speakers of the Sejm and the Senate, where he also lays flowers at a memorial plaque commemorating members of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland who were killed during World War II. The visit concludes with a meeting with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk.

Rabi Lamichhane, the former Nepali Home Minister, greets supporters and party cadres from his vehicle upon arrival at the party office in Kathmandu, Nepal, on December 21, 2025, after being released on bail. Lamichhane, who is also the President of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), is released on bail on December 19, 2025. The Butwal bench of Tulsipur High Court issues an order for Lamichhane's release on bail. As per the court order, Lamichhane, who is in Nakkhu jail, Lalitpur, reaches Bhairahawa district in person and completes every procedure for the release. Earlier, the District Court, Rupandehi, denies his release on bail despite submitting the bank deposit, which prompts Lamichhane to approach the High Court. Information Officer at District Court, Padam Aryal, informs that Lamichhane deposits NRs 37.4 million as bail. Lamichhane faces the case of misappropriation of cooperatives fund.

On December 16, 1981, in Katowice, striking miners at the 'Wujek' coal mine are violently suppressed by units of ZOMO acting under orders issued by Wojciech Jaruzelski. As a result of these actions, six miners are killed at the scene, three others later die in hospital, and 23 are injured. These events bring the strike at the mine to an end.
