About 30,000 labours work at the yard during the production season. They produce around 60,00000 tonnes of dried fish worth crores every season. Different species of fish are being processed in the Yard. Chhuri, Laitta, Faisshya, Rupchanda, Matia, Poa, Chingri, Lakkhya, Kamila, Korati, Rupsha and Surma are the most common dried fish.
