Khashoggi was a Saudi citizen and dissident journalist and was a regular contributor at the Washington Post. He was murdered and dismembered at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul, Turkey, on October 2, 2018. It is widely believed that his murder was ordered by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
