Blades of offshore wind turbines are waiting to be loaded at Penglai Port area of Yantai Port in Yantai, China, on July 31, 2024. On July 31, 2024, the National Energy Administration is holding a press conference to release the energy situation and renewable energy grid-connected operation in the first half of the year: As of the end of June 2024, the installed capacity of renewable energy generation in the country is reaching 1.653 billion kilowatts, an increase of 25%, accounting for about 53.8% of the total installed capacity of power generation in China. The total installed capacity of wind power photovoltaic power generation (1.18 billion kW) is exceeding the installed capacity of coal power (1.17 billion kW).
