Protesters gathered outside the U.S. Embassy in Athens, Greece on December 20, 2021 in support of Julian Assange, an Australian journalist and founder of Wikileaks. In 2010, he published a series of leaks including correspondence and videos from military files. The files were supplied by then U.S. Army intelligence analyst Chelsea Manning. Since Assange's arrest in 2019, he has been incarcerated in Belmarsh Prison in London. Recently, the UK High Court ruled that Assange can be extradited to the US.
