On Wednesday, at approximately 4:57 PM, police respond to a 911 call of an assault in progress at 2690 University Avenue in the Kingsbridge Heights neighborhood of Bronx, New York. Upon arrival, officers observe a 28-year-old man identified as Marji Daoud with a gunshot wound to his head. EMS responds and transports Daoud to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where he is pronounced dead. Additionally, police are alerted to a second victim, a 33-year-old woman, who is transported by private means to NYC Health and Hospitals/Woodhull with a gunshot wound to the left hip, and at this time, she is listed in stable condition. There are no arrests at this time, and the investigation remains ongoing by the NYPD.
