A boy of 4 years old was electrocuted in the BRT station Mercadão - (Bus Rapid Transit) in Rio de Janeiro, on January 28, 2016. The accident occurred on the afternoon of January 27 and the child is hospitalized in a coma in a hospital in Rio. The BRT Transcarioca where the accident connects the Rio International Airport to the Alvorada Terminal and will be used during the 2016 Olympic Games because it has occurred stations integrated with the Metro with the airport and near the Olympic Park in Barra da Tijuca.
