A Nepali girl reacts to the sounds of a blasting cannon during the Phulpati celebration in Kathmandu, Nepal, on September 29, 2025. ''Phulpati,'' the seventh day of the fortnightly festival of Dashain, is observed with the arrival of a palanquin at Basantapur Durbar Square's Dashain Ghar from Gorkha Durbar. Both the former royal palaces of the Himalayan nation honor the age-old tradition that starts about a century ago. Phulpati, an assortment of flowers, leaves, and fruits of different plants, is considered auspicious and is anointed at Dashain Ghar on the seventh day of the fortnightly festival of Dashain.
