A farmer is waving a JA (Young Farmers) union flag in Toulouse, France, on January 16, 2024. The FDSEA and JA farmers' unions have called their members to protest in Toulouse, as well as in other parts of France, urging the government for assistance. Farmers are arriving with their tractors to join the protest. They are blocking the streets during the demonstration. They are protesting against the increase in water usage fees, taxes on biocides, and the implementation of the EGAlim law. They are also demanding that the French government ''cut the red tape.'' Farmers are pouring manure and waste at the entrance of a building housing several agencies related to agriculture: Ademe (for efficient energy use), the Adour-Garonne water agency, and the OFB (French Office for Biodiversity). Some farmers are attempting to break into the building but are being stopped by Gendarmerie and Police officers.
