A young woman holds a cardboard sign reading 'All Capitalists Are Bastards'. All trade unions unite, and thousands of people take to the streets in Toulouse, France, on September 10, against Macron's economic policies after a day called 'Bloquons tout' (Block everything). This movement launches at the beginning of the summer on social networks against Macron's policies: downsizing the welfare state to cut taxes for businesses, increasing the Defense budget and Interior Ministry, and his choice of conservative Sebastien Lecornu as the new Prime Minister. His pro-business stance angers French people who blockade everywhere in France on September 10. A gathering and a march are authorized by the Prefect of Occitanie. The Prefect decides to forbid the gathering called by the CGT union and the march one and a half hours before the beginning. Riot police charge and clash violently with peaceful protesters and CGT unionists using tear gas and pepper spray in Toulouse, France, on October 2, 2025.

A protester stands near graffiti reading 'ACABlant'. Opponents of the planned A69 highway gather in the Tarn department in Maurens-Scopont for a weekend of protests called 'Turboteuf' in the domain of the Maurens-Scopont castle. After protesters try to break into the work site to reach a bridge, riot police and protesters scuffle. Riot police use volleys of tear gas canisters. The decision of the Cour d'Appel Administrative (Administrative Court of Appeal) of Toulouse greenlights the resumption of leveling works on the A69 highway. The Administrative Court of Toulouse decides on February 27 to suspend all works on the A69 project highway between Toulouse and Castres. NGE/Atosca files an appeal against this decision and asks the Court to let the works continue during the time the appeal is judged. Two senators and two MPs from the Tarn department put to vote a retroactive law to authorize the building of the A69. They say they want to bypass the decision of the Administrative Court of Toulouse. Atosca says all leveling works have begun and that more than 70% of highway structures are completed. However, the leveling works and highway structure are not close to the numbers given by Atosca. Moreover, several problems plague the work, such as water evacuation and protection of species. The main association 'La Voie est Libre' (i.e., 'The Way is Free') wants the building of the highway to be stopped until all the justice decisions on the content are given. All expropriations for farmers are not cleared. Opponents of this project say that the reprofiling of the N126 will be sufficient for the 6,000 vehicles planned per day and would cost far less money. The A69 highway will cost EUR512 million (in 2018 euros without inflation) for 54 kilometers. More than 100 protected species and 400 hectares of agricultural fields will be destroyed. This takes place in Maurens-Scopont, Tarn, France, on July 6, 2025.

Chaima Issa, a political opponent, holds a placard that reads ACAB (all cops are bastards) as she shouts slogans against Tunisian President Kais Saied during a protest in Tunis, Tunisia, on January 14, 2025. The protest marks the 14th anniversary of the flight of former Tunisian President and dictator Zine el-Abidine Ben Ali, following a call for demonstrations by the Tunisian Network for Rights and Freedoms. The protesters call for the preservation of the gains of the Tunisian Revolution and protest against what they describe as the authoritarian drift of President Kais Saied, as well as the assault on democracy, freedoms, and rights by the authorities. Following a popular uprising in Tunisia between December 2010 and January 2011, which the authorities brutally repressed, Zine el-Abidine Ben Ali is forced to flee the country on January 14, 2011. This date becomes the official commemoration of the Tunisian Revolution, called Revolution Day, marking the start of the 'Arab Spring' and leading to major political changes in Tunisia. In 2021, President Kais Saied changes the date for commemorating the Revolution from January 14 to December 17.

A protester holds a placard reading 'Every police is good to write ACAB'. It is a play on words in French: 'police' means both 'the police' and 'fonts'. Between 3,000 and 5,000 protesters march in Toulouse, France, on October 1, 2024, called by the FSU, the CGT, and the SUD unions to protest against Macron's choice of Michel Barnier (conservative) as prime minister. Unions call this protest to remind President Macron that the first coalition elected in June in the French Parliament is the New Popular Front. They also lead for better wages. They accuse the president of ignoring election results by naming Michel Barnier (LR, Right) as prime minister. The left, led by LFI, accuses Macron of a denial of democracy and stealing the election after Macron refuses to pick the candidate of the New Popular Front (NFP) alliance that comes top in the July vote. The left and the far-left unionize in a new umbrella called 'Nouveau Front Populaire' (i.e., 'New Popular Front'). President Emmanuel Macron calls a snap legislative election in June and is defeated. The new prime minister will try to govern with a coalition of Macronist and rightists. The RN (far right) says it will judge on pieces. Similar protests take place elsewhere in France.

A young woman raises a placard that reads ''ACAB'' during a demonstration organized by the Tunisian Network for Rights and Freedoms in Tunis, Tunisia, on September 22, 2024, to protest the draft amendment to the electoral law. Demonstrators contest the legitimacy of the upcoming presidential elections, scheduled to take place on October 6. They also protest against what they describe as violations of rights and freedoms by the regime, as well as against the populism, economic, social, and freedom policies of the outgoing president, Kais Saied, and his authoritarian rule. With less than three weeks to the vote and during the electoral period of the presidential elections, some thirty MPs submit a draft amendment to the electoral law to the Bureau of the Assembly of People's Representatives (ARP), aiming to change a number of clauses in the aforementioned law, according to which presidential election candidates will only be able to submit their complaints against the Independent High Authority for Elections (ISIE) to the Court of Appeal instead of the Administrative Court.

Someone is writing 'Acab' on a pedestrian crossing. ACAB stands for All Cops Are Bastards. A spontaneous gathering and march are taking place in Toulouse, France, on July 1, 2024, against Marine Le Pen's National Rally (RN) after the party made historic gains to win the first round of a parliamentary election. The RN is an anti-immigration, eurosceptic party. The RN and its allies are winning Sunday's round with 33% of the vote, followed by a left-wing bloc with 28% and well ahead of President Emmanuel Macron's broad alliance of centrists, who are scoring just 22%. The left and the far-left are unionizing in a new umbrella called 'Front Populaire' (i.e., 'Popular Front'). President Emmanuel Macron is calling a snap legislative election, to be held in two rounds on June 30 and July 7, after his centrist alliance was trounced by the RN in last Sunday's European Parliament ballot.
