A van with an image of an aborted fetus is seen at an anti-abortion rally in front of the Praga district court in Warsaw, Poland on 06 January, 2022. Justyna Wydrzynska on Wednesday appeared in the Praga district court in Warsaw, Poland on charges of assisting with an abortion. The case came to light after a woman asked for help with an abortion was supplied with abortion pills by Wydrzynska, founder of a website that supports women in need of a safe abortion. The woman's husband however confiscated the abortion pills and notified the police. If found guilty Wydrzynska could face up to three years in prison. The case is the first of its kind in Poland and human rights organizations have pledged support including the UN special rapporteur on human rights defenders.
