Activists gathered around a boat on the exchange deck on Monday, October 7, 2019, when several hundred environmental activists from the international movement Extinction Rebellion (XR) launched the occupation of the Place du Chatelet and the Change Bridge in Paris to alert the population and the French and international authorities to the climate emergency in the face of inaction by governments on global warming. This action is part of the International Action Week, October International Rebellion (RIO) launched on Monday.
