Indonesians see 'Emergency Warning' posts across various social media platforms in Jakarta, Indonesia, on August 21, 2024. Millions of Indonesians currently share a blue image with the text 'Emergency Warning' across various social media platforms. The 'Emergency Warning' movement goes viral after the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) begins discussing a revision to the Regional Election Law in response to two final decisions by the Constitutional Court. The two Constitutional Court rulings issued on August 20 eliminate the possibility of a ''blank box'' scenario in the 2024 regional elections and close the opportunity for President Jokowi's son, Kaesang Pangarep, who is nominated for the gubernatorial election. The DPR's decision sparks controversy, as it is seen as paving the way for Kaesang to advance in the regional elections.

Turkish protesters during clashes with police to mark the one-year anniversary of the Gezi Park protests on May 31, 2014 in Istanbul, Turkey. The original protest over the removal of trees to convert a downtown park into a shopping mall turned into a broader, month-long protest against the authoritarian rule of Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, presenting the political biggest challenge to the PM and his ruling AK Party (AKP) after more than a decade in power.
