Two Iranian female volunteers distribute packages containing hygiene supplies among veiled Afghan women refugees in the Milak refugee camp on Iran's eastern border with Afghanistan, in Hirmand County, Sistan and Baluchistan Province, directly opposite Zaranj in Afghanistan's Nimruz Province, approximately 1,688 km (1,050 miles) east of Tehran, Iran, on December 17, 2025, before leaving Iran for Afghanistan. Official reports state that from late 2024, census cards and temporary residence permits for migrants (particularly Afghans) are revoked, and the Ministry of Interior sets July 6, 2025, as the final deadline for unauthorized foreign nationals to leave Iran.
