A traditional musical instrument is on display inside the Tangier American Legation Institute for Moroccan Studies in Tangier, Morocco. The Tangier American Legation, officially the Tangier American Legation Institute for Moroccan Studies, is a building in the medina of Tangier, Morocco, that formerly houses the United States diplomatic mission to Morocco. The Tangier American Legation serves as a U.S. embassy, consulate, and official residence of the U.S. Ambassador to the Kingdom of Morocco. The Tangier American Legation Institute for Moroccan Studies is the only American Historic Monument located outside American soil.
