On September 19, 2025, in Mexico, the Second National Drill Mexico 2025 takes place with a hypothesis of an 8.1 magnitude earthquake with an epicenter in Lazaro Cardenas, Michoacan; a hurricane in Campeche, Yucatan, Sonora, Quintana Roo, and Baja California Sur; an urban fire in Durango, Guanajuato, and Tamaulipas; and a tsunami in Baja California. The Government of Mexico, through the National Civil Protection Coordination (CNPC) and the Digital Transformation and Telecommunications Agency (ATDT), reports that, for the first time, the Mass Alert System reaches the cell phones of 80 million users as part of the Second National Drill 2025 on September 19, at 12:00 p.m.
